Telegram Saved Messages alternative
Saved Messages keeps everything. It just cannot find any of it.
Forwarding to Saved Messages is the honest way most Telegram users do what Stashy does: links, screenshots, addresses, that one voice note. It works until you need something from three months ago and search wants the exact word you used. Stashy is a Telegram bot you forward to instead, and it remembers what things are about.

| Telegram Saved Messages | Stashy | |
|---|---|---|
| Saving | Forward anything. No limit on how much, 2 GB per file. | Forward anything. Each item gets a title, topic, and source. Free plan holds 30 memories, paid is unlimited text memories. |
| Finding it again | Keyword search. You need a word that appears in the message. | Ask in plain words: “what was that brunch place Emma sent?” Stashy matches by meaning. |
| Organising | Tags on saved messages, available to Telegram Premium subscribers. View by source chat or as a list. | Nothing to organise. Topics are assigned as you save. |
| Reminders | You can schedule a message to yourself for a chosen time. It is the message, not a reminder about something saved earlier. | Say when, and the reminder is linked to what you just forwarded. It arrives with that memory’s title. |
| Where it lives | Telegram only. | Telegram and WhatsApp, with one shared memory on paid plans. |
| Cost | Free. Tags need Telegram Premium. | Free to start. Founding access $4.99 a month. |
The moment Saved Messages fails
Forwarded from Emma: you have to try Northstar Cafe in SF, best brunch
Saved: Northstar Cafe, San Francisco, brunch recommendation from Emma.
Two months laterwhat was that place Emma recommended?
Found it: Northstar Cafe in San Francisco, brunch, from Emma.
Why Saved Messages stops working
It is a chat with yourself, and it has the strengths of a chat: instant, free, unlimited, and synced to desktop. It also has the weakness of a chat. Everything sits in one scroll in the order you sent it, and the only way back is search that needs the exact word. You saved “Northstar”, you search “brunch place”, nothing.
Telegram improved this in 2024 with Saved Messages 2.0: a view by the chat things came from, and tags. Tags are a Premium feature, and they still need you to tag things at the moment you save them, which is the step nobody does.
What Stashy does with the same forward
Forward the same message to Stashy and it gets a title, a topic, and a source before you have put the phone down. When you ask two months later, you ask the way you remember it, not the way you wrote it. “That place Emma recommended” is enough.
The other half is reminders. Saved Messages lets you schedule a message to yourself, which is useful, but it is disconnected from what you saved. Stashy links a reminder to the thing you just forwarded, so “remind me about this on Friday” arrives on Friday with the title of the message it was about.
Keep using Saved Messages for what it is good at
Moving files from phone to laptop, parking a draft, sending yourself a photo to post later. None of that needs memory. Send Stashy the things you will need to find again or be reminded about, and leave the rest where it is.

Common questions
Can I import my existing Saved Messages?
Not in bulk. Forward the ones you still care about to Stashy as you come across them. Most people find that a week of forwarding covers what actually matters.
Does Stashy keep the original message or just a summary?
It keeps what you sent and adds a title, topic, and source so it can be found. Ask for it and you get the content back.
Is this the same as Telegram’s scheduled messages or “Set a reminder”?
No. Telegram lets you schedule a message to yourself for a chosen time. Stashy links a reminder to something you already saved, and the reminder arrives with that memory’s title. Ask for the original in the same chat any time.
Do I need Telegram Premium?
No. Stashy is a bot and works on a free Telegram account. Telegram’s own tags for Saved Messages are the feature that needs Premium.
Does a Stashy reminder include the file or screenshot itself?
The reminder carries the title of the memory it is linked to, for example “about: Acme invoice, ₹4,800”. Files are never resent in reminders. Ask Stashy for the file in the same chat and it finds it.
What does Stashy cost?
You can start free with no card: 30 memories, 15 recalls, and 10 reminders (5 active at a time) on one channel. Founding access is $4.99 a month for unlimited text memories, natural-language recall, contextual reminders, and one shared memory across WhatsApp and Telegram.
Forward it to something that remembers.
